Bibb, who played vacationer Kate opposite Michelle Monaghan and Carrie Coon in season three of Mike White's hit HBO series earlier this year, has signed on to play Captain Diane Goodman in the Icelandic noir, The Hollywood Reporter can confirm. The series comes from Iceland's leading production company Truenorth, alongside Mystery Productions and Vertu. When an American soldier is found dead under suspicious circumstances outside the base, Goodman and Ellis are forced to work closely with the Icelandic police. They soon uncover a web of espionage, betrayal and political deceit - trapped between duty and diplomacy, the two women must navigate a dangerous network of secrets before more lives are lost. Created by Davíð Óskar Ólafsson (The Valhalla Murders, Trom) and Jón Atli Jónasson (Arctic Circle, The Deep), and co-created by Ragnar Jónsson (Black Sands), the drama will be directed by Ólafsson and written by Jónasson and Óttar M. Norðfjörð (The Darkness, The Valhalla Murders, Reykjavík 112). Top of the Rock is produced by Kristinn Thordarson, Ólafsson and Ágúst Freyr Ingason, with Truenorth's CEO and Founder Leifur B. Dagfinnsson serving as EP. "Top of the Rock will redefine Icelandic noirs for audiences around the globe," said Kristinn Thordarson, co-svp of film and TV at Truenorth and producer of the series. "It will reinvigorate their passion for complex and captivating storytelling in the most picturesque setting." The production is developed and financed by Truenorth, Mystery Productions and Vertu, with Enderby Entertainment, Baradal / Frédéric Pittoors, and Lumière as key partners. Emmy-winning casting director Alexa L. Fogel (True Detective, Ozark) also serves as an EP on the series. Truenorth is one of Northern Europe's leading production companies. In recent years, it has produced True Detective season four, Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning and The Northman out of Iceland. Joining the recently announced Fury, Top of the Rock is the next production announced in Truenorth's fast expanding slate. Bibb, also star of Palm Royale and Juror #2, is represented by UTA, LBI Entertainment and Narrative.
