Kunis and Kutcher met on set of their 1998 comedy series That '70s Show, which ran until 2006. Following Kutcher's split from ex-wife, Demi Moore, in 2011, he reconnected with Kunis and the twosome started dating in 2012. Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis' Complete Relationship Timeline Kunis previously revealed that her and Kutcher wanted kids "so badly." "We were so ready to be parents," Kunis told The EDIT in November 2017. "I want to raise a kid that I would be friends with. ... I don't think any parent wants to be responsible for a child that grows up to be an a**hole." Although the couple tend to keep their kids out of the spotlight, they have continued to speak about the ups and downs of parenting. "I don't know if it equates to being a girl dad or it equates to her being my first, but when I had my daughter, I had never been so in love in my entire life," Kutcher shared on a September 2024 episode of the "Throwbacks" podcast. "And Mila and I talked about it a lot. Like, I've never loved anyone this much. Ever." Kutcher went on to explain how he feels like he parents his son and daughter "differently." Mila Kunis Says Ashton Kutcher Made Her Fall 'In Love' With Being Jewish "My son, I'm always like, 'Yeah, let's go for it.' Like yesterday we're popping wheelies on a bicycle in the driveway or it's like, 'See if you can jump down four stairs,'" he explained. "[With] my daughter I just want to protect her. When my son cries, I'm like, 'All right, what did we learn? Let's move on.' But when my daughter cries, my heart is out of my body and I can't put it back in." Kutcher noted that there's probably a lot of "toxic masculinity" that he's had in his life that causes him to treat his son differently. "But I also notice the same thing with my wife, like, she's very strict on our daughter and, like, a gushball with our son," he said. "I think we balance each other in that way."
