The Landman actor and Maleficent star-who were married from 2000 to 2003-have maintained a close relationship despite their split, as Thornton recently shared. "Angelina and I had a great time together," the 70-year-old told Rolling Stone in an interview published Nov. 17. "That was one of the greatest times of my life. She and I are still very, very close friends." As the Oscar winner explained, he and Jolie, 50, had "a really civilized breakup" with their split coming as a result of differing lifestyles. And looking back on their marriage now, Thornton-who has been married six times-admits the frenzy surrounding it "was pretty weird." "When we met, I was the more famous one," he said. Take, for example, the time they revealed they wore vials of each other's blood, which they have long insisted was never the case. "We each had a little locket, literally with a drop of blood in them," he explained. "That's a romantic little idea, and that's all that was. But by the time it's over, we're vampires.
