Watch: Princess Beatrice Gives Birth, Welcomes Baby No. 2 With Edoardo Mapelli MozziPrincess Beatrice is reflecting on her little Queen's early arrival. Over nine months after the British royal-whose parents are Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson-and her husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi welcomed their second daughter Athena Elizabeth Rose a few weeks before her due date in January, she detailed how premature births can impact motherhood. "I think so often, especially as [moms], we spend our lives feeling we have to be perfect to do this," Beatrice, 37, explained in the Nov. 17 episode of The Borne Podcast. "And sometimes, when you are faced with that moment of learning that your baby's going to come a bit early, it can be incredibly lonely." And with that reality in mind, the philanthropist became a patron to Borne, a medical research charity that's "on a mission to end premature birth," in March. Since she became an advocate for the organization, Beatrice-also mom to stepson Christopher, 9, and Sienna Elizabeth Mozzi, 4, with Edoardo-noted her work has encouraged other mothers to embrace their "unique" birth stories.photosPrincess Beatrice and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi: Romance Rewind"They feel this sense of life-changing relief that can come with knowing that there's an organization that's supporting the research and questions," she continued in the podcast. "My favorite thing about being a mom is that it almost feels like a secret club of sharing stories." Beatrice continued, "I love the fact that Borne is there to support them when they're going through something incredibly traumatic, and how can we make sure that phenomenal data, great tools and great doctors have everything at their disposal so that no mom can feel alone."Dave Benett/Getty Images for Make-A-Wish UKBeatrice's advocacy comes months after she candidly spoke about her second pregnancy in March. That month, she admitted that she was plagued with an "overwhelming fear of the unknown" when "routine scans" showed that Athena would arrive earlier than expected. "What I learnt in this process has been humbling: understanding so much more about our remarkable human bodies, but also, more than anything, what we don't know," she wrote in her personal essay for British Vogue at the time. "You can try and plan as much as possible with pregnancy, but sometimes your body-or your baby-has other ideas." But she and her husband, who got married in July 2020, weren't alone on this parental journey. In fact, Beatrice shared that she was "monitored closely by a medical team" and that she's "extremely aware of how lucky I am" to have that unconditional support. "Athena arrived healthy, a few weeks before her due date," she expressed. "She was so tiny it took more than a few weeks for the tears of relief to dry and for life with our healthy baby to feel real." Keep reading to see more stars who expanded their families this year...
