But only a select few also have "The one that got away and then got really, really famous" in their dating history. Over the years, folks on Reddit threads have been sharing their stories (or in many cases, their friends' and family's stories) of having dated celebrities before they were household names. So, I took it upon myself to track down some of the best ones. Before we proceed, we must first acknowledge two key points: 1) Some of these Reddit submissions have been edited for length and clarity, and 2) You can never be sure if people are telling the whole truth, so it's best to take all these examples with a grain of salt and a generous dose of ALLEGEDLY. Let's get into it! 1. "I had an English teacher who went on a date with Mark Hamill just after filming Star Wars in the '70s. She said he was a nice guy and was very humble. He said he was a small-time actor and said he had just finished a new movie that he thought might be successful. They only went out once, and she never heard from him again.
