Blake Lively allegedly improvised a kissing scene with Justin Baldoni in It Ends With Us, though it never made it into the final cut of the film. In the previously unreleased footage obtained by Us Weekly, Lively's Lily Bloom can be seen walking through a hospital in search of Baldoni's Ryle Kincaid. (Ryle is a celebrated neurosurgeon in the movie.) "Hi, I'm so sorry," Lively, 38, abruptly says, walking toward Baldoni, 41, who subsequently asks whether "everything was OK." "Yeah, you just forgot this," she responds, handing him a notebook and giving him a brief peck on the lips. Everything Justin Baldoni Has Said About Working With Blake Lively Lively pats Baldoni on the back before quickly walking out of frame. "No, babe, this isn't [mine]," Baldoni replies before Lively adds, "I know. I happen to love you too." Baldoni chuckles, smiles and tosses the journal into the air before calling cut. Lively and Baldoni costarred in 2024's It Ends With Us, which was adapted from Colleen Hoover's bestselling novel of the same name about the abusive relationship between Ryle and Lily. In addition to their starring roles in the project, Baldoni directed It Ends With Us, and Lively served as an executive producer. Sony Pictures / courtesy of Everett Collection Lively later accused Baldoni of sexual harassment, fostering a hostile work environment and attempting to ruin her reputation in a December 2024 lawsuit. He vehemently denied the allegations before filing a defamation suit against the Gossip Girl alum and her husband, Ryan Reynolds. The couple, who have been married since 2012, refuted the accusations before the case was dismissed in May. Amid the ongoing proceedings in Lively's case, Baldoni's team recently claimed that the cut hospital scene featured a kiss that wasn't in the script. His lawyers argued that Lively "oversaw a scene she herself added to the script, in which her character kissed Baldoni's character in every take" despite the action not being expressly written in the original script. Lively has not addressed the claims. Us Weekly has reached out for comment. Lively's team, however, previously claimed there were other romantic scenes that Baldoni had improvised. Sony Pictures /Courtesy of Everett Collection "Justin Baldoni and his lawyer may hope that this latest stunt will get ahead of the damaging evidence against him, but the video itself is damning. Every frame of the released footage corroborates, to the letter, what Ms. Lively described in Paragraph 48 of her Complaint," Lively's lawyers told Us Weekly in a January statement, referring to cut footage of the actors on set. "The video shows Mr. Baldoni repeatedly leaning in toward Ms. Lively, attempting to kiss her, kissing her forehead, rubbing his face and mouth against her neck, flicking her lip with his thumb, caressing her, telling her how good she smells and talking with her out of character." The statement added, "Every moment of this was improvised by Mr. Baldoni with no discussion or consent in advance and no intimacy coordinator present. Mr. Baldoni was not only Ms. Lively's costar, but the director, the head of [the] studio and Ms. Lively's boss. Any woman who has been inappropriately touched in the workplace will recognize Ms. Lively's discomfort." Baldoni's lawyer Bryan Freedman subsequently denied the accusations.
