And these things sometimes come across far, far worse in video footage thanks to non-verbal cues, including stiff body language, eye-rolls, and more. That said, here's a roundup of pretty bad celeb moments that are arguably worse on video compared to in writing: 1. Recently, Sydney Sweeney faced backlash for downplaying the criticism of her viral American Eagle campaign, which ran with the tagline, "Sydney Sweeney has great jeans," and featured her saying, "Genes are passed down from parent to offspring, often determining traits like eye color, personality, and even hair color. My jeans are blue." While speaking with GQ, Sydney said of the outrage: "I did a jean ad. I mean, the reaction definitely was a surprise, but I love jeans. All I wear are jeans. I'm literally in jeans and a T-shirt every day of my life." Frazer Harrison / Getty Images Sydney also said it was "surreal" that President Donald Trump weighed in on the discourse, before elsewhere adding, "I knew, at the end of the day, what that ad was for, and it was great jeans, it didn't affect me one way or the other." When the GQ interviewer suggested that "white people shouldn't joke about genetic superiority" in today's political climate, Sydney replied, "I think that when I have an issue that I want to speak about, people will hear." Michael Buckner / Getty Images While her comments certainly caused a stir, things got even worse for Sydney once full video footage of her response was released. In the clip, she could be seen pulling faces and appeared pretty unimpressed at the question about "genetic superiority." Stoeffel: I mean, Trump tweeted about the jeans ad ... that just seems like a very crazy moment...

Sweeney: It was surreal.

Last month, Keira Knightley addressed her involvement in the new Harry Potter audiobooks, which garnered criticism from several people who have boycotted the franchise due to author J.K. Rowling's anti-trans statements. In a print interview published by Decider, Keira said, "I'm very sorry...I think we're all living in a period of time right now where we're all going to have to figure out how to live together, aren't we? And we've all got very different opinions. I hope that we can all find respect," while adding elsewhere that she was "not aware" of the boycott. In the clip, Keira let out a laugh after saying that she was "very sorry" - and when later stating that "we're all going to have to figure out how to live together," she seemed to have a smirk on her face. @deciderdotcom / Via tiktok.com You can watch the full clip below: @deciderdotcom Keira Knightley says she "was not aware" of any #HarryPotter boycott when she signed on to voice Professor Umbridge in Audible's upcoming seven-part audio book adaptation of the J.K. Last year, journalist Kjersti Flaa released footage of an awkward 2016 chat with Blake Lively, which she described as the "most uncomfortable interview situation" she'd ever experienced. In the footage, Kjersti began by congratulating Blake - who had announced her pregnancy earlier that year - on her "little bump." However, Blake seemed to find this offensive, and sarcastically retorted: "Congrats on your little bump!" Michael Loccisano / Getty Images Kjersti, who visibly wasn't pregnant, attempted to continue with the interview. However, Blake seemed unimpressed by her question about the costumes she and her co-star, Parker Posey, wore in the movie they were promoting. In fact, Blake went on to derail the conversation by discussing their male costars' outfits instead, while seemingly avoiding making eye contact with or acknowledging Kjersti throughout the rest of the chat.
