If you didn't, that's because the singer just confirmed his past relationship with her during an appearance on Cam Newton's Funky Friday Podcast. Denise Truscello / WireImage According to Ray J, the pair had planned to go public with their relationship before her death in Los Angeles' Beverly Hilton hotel - which happened while he was performing a concert in San Diego. Paras Griffin / Getty Images for BET Despite that, Ray J claimed during the podcast interview that he's heard rumors that he was somehow involved with Whitney's death "since the beginning." "When you know the truth, why do you have to jump out there and try to tell it to everybody?" he said. "I didn't care about what people were saying." So to make me that person when I wasn't even there and then to put murderer on top of that, it's fucked up."
