The 74-year-old will be feted with a clips-and-conversation career tribute at Santa Barbara's historic Arlington Theater on Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2026. "I've been a big fan of Stellan since his work in Breaking the Waves," said SBIFF executive director Roger Durling said in a statement. "From that point on, I was drawn to his performances because of his versatility and his deep emotional delivery. He makes it look easy to embody both complex protagonists and nuanced villains with gravitas and an ability to convey profound emotional depth." The Montecito Award is named after one of the most beautiful and stylish areas in Santa Barbara.
