The musical played its final performance at the St. James Theatre on July 20 and was the highest grossing show that week. Still, Wicked took back its reign as the highest grossing show last week with $2.4 million, followed by The Lion King with $2.2 million, Hamilton with $2.2 million (in the leadup to its 10-year-anniversary on Broadway), Aladdin with $1.6 million and MJ with $1.4 million. Overall attendance was down 4 percent from the prior week. The Penzance Musical played its final performance at the Todd Haimes Theatre on July 27 and saw the second highest gross of its run, at $567,633. The musical, which began performances in May, played to more than 100 percent capacity last week. Jinkx Monsoon, who starred in the show, will next take over the role of Mary Todd Lincoln in Oh, Mary! starting Aug. 4. Cabaret grosses fell to $648,886 last week, from $1.2 million, and capacity at the August Wilson Theater fell to 82 percent as Billy Porter and Marisha Wallace took over the roles of the Emcee and Sally Bowles from Orville Peck and Eva Noblezada. Jean Smart returned to Call Me Izzy last week, after being out due to a knee injury, and grosses increased by $370,459 from the prior week to reach $426,978 (the prior week only had four shows rather than eight last week, which also contributed to the jump). Capacity increased to 59 percent from 30 percent at Studio 54.
