"On an occasion like Remembrance Sunday, his thoughts, from California, will undoubtedly be regretful," the journalist told the Daily Express. _ The holiday honoring veterans may bring back memories for Prince Harry, who completed two tours in Afghanistan, serving as a forward air controller and also an Apache attack helicopter pilot. "He is still part of the British military family and its major act of homage to the fallen in Whitehall, where his father, King Charles III, leads the nation's homage to the fallen. He will be absent in person but undoubtedly present in spirit," Richard Fitzwilliams said. "Each year on Remembrance Sunday, he and Meghan Markle commemorate it by doing something which they regard as appropriate for the occasion." _ Prince Harry's years serving in the armed forces made a huge impact on him. "Prince Harry has always said that the decade he spent in the military was the making of him," Richard Fitzwilliams said. "His two tours of duty in Afghanistan were undoubtedly a success and his popularity at that time was huge in Britain." _ Prince Harry has been open about his time in the army. "It's a duty, a job and a service to our country - and having done two tours of duty in Afghanistan for my country, I've done all I could to be the best soldier I was trained to be," he said in an interview with People. _ The annual day of remembrance might even stoke feelings of regret for Prince Harry over leaving Britian in 2020 and publishing his shocking memoir, Spare, about the royal family. "He is bound to have very deep regrets. The state of King Charles III's health is bound to add to them," Richard Fitzwilliams said.
