"When George moves on to secondary school, maybe he'll have one with limited access. We talk to him and explain why we don't think it's right," the Prince of Wales said of his 12-year-old son, who is expected to start secondary school in September 2026. (The royal family has yet to confirm which prestigious institution he'll attend.) _ Prince William and Kate Middleton have been hesitant about allowing their three children - Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis - to use technology. "It's really hard. Our children don't have phones," the future king of England said. "With full access, children end up seeing things on the internet that they shouldn't. But with restricted access. I think it's good for messaging." _ Prince William admitted that technology is increasingly a topic of conversation within their family. "To be honest, it's getting to the point where it's becoming a little bit of a tense issue," the father of three said. "But I think [Prince George] understands why. We communicate why we don't think it's right. Again, I think it's the internet access I have a problem with. I think children can access too much stuff they don't need to see online and so having a phone and text message, the old sort of 'brick phone' as they call them. I think that's fine." _ While appearing on actor Eugene Levy's travel series The Reluctant Traveler, Prince William emphasized that he and Kate Middleton are making the most of the time they have with their kids without gadgets. "We sit and chat. None of the children have phones," he said. "[It's something] we are really strict about." _ Despite being part of one of the most famous families in the world, Prince William and Kate Middleton have ensured their kids are shielded from the limelight. "As far as we're concerned, within our family unit we are a normal family," the 43-year-old said in an interview with BBC News. "I love my children the same way any father does, and I hope [Prince] George loves me the same way any son does to his father, so we are very normal in that sense."
