For years, the pair - who have been married since 2013, and share two daughters - haven't shied away from sharing the highs and lows of their relationship. MORE: 1. Most recently, Kristen sparked backlash with a widely controversial anniversary tribute towards Dax. Alongside a photo of her straddling him, she wrote, "Happy 12th wedding anniversary to the man who once said to me: 'I would never kill you. A lot of men have killed their wives at a certain point. Amid the backlash, fans uncovered a joke Dax made in 2012 about "hitting" Kristen. While the pair were promoting their movie Hit and Run, Kristen recalled telling Dax that his car sounded like it was "gonna break" after he'd spent two years "souping it up." She said, "He was so excited. We drove to brunch and the first thing I said, five minutes into the ride, I said, 'This sounds like it's gonna break.'" I never opened my mouth again." 3. Last year, Kristen recalled going to couples therapy with Dax just six months into their relationship. "We went to therapy a lot our first and second year, because we're both really stubborn," she shared on SiriusXM's Where Everybody Knows Your Name with Ted Danson and Woody Harrelson (sometimes) podcast. "I never, ever, ever was like, 'Oh, I hope I can keep Kristen,' I was going, 'Do I want to be with a Christian, who has eight people living in her house for free? Who has to get out of a car when there's a dog that doesn't have a leash and ruin her whole day to rescue this dog?' That's great and she's good, but that's not what I wanna do, I'm not that good, I don't want to spend my day finding the owner of a dog," he said in 2019, adding, "I wasn't fearful I would lose her, I wasn't certain I wanted to be with someone like that." [Kristen and I] don't believe in the fairytale. "I don't actually remember what happened, but what transpired was a lot of volume, a lot of harsh words being thrown around, and it was an angry, angry fight about how nobody does anything for anybody else," she shared, adding that the fight ended with her sleeping on the couch and not speaking to Dax for three days. In 2021, the pair admitted that they tend to only give their daughters - Lincoln, now 12, and Delta, 10 - showers when they start to "stink," with Kristen saying, "I'm a big fan of waiting for the stink.
