As fans prepare to dive back into the world of Oz and "rejoicify" in the conclusion of the beloved musical's film adaptation, it seems there's no better time than now to get excited about the movie's release by fantasizing about visiting the real-life locations where it was filmed. While production began in December 2022, delays due to the SAG-AFTRA strike resulted in filming wrapping up in January 2024. According to director Jon M. Chu, both movies were shot over a grand total of 160 days. Short clips of various outdoor locations appear in the final trailer for Wicked: For Good, released on Sept. 24, 2025, featuring both new and familiar places for fans of the Wicked characters and settings. It's clear that the film's stars, Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo, have a lot prepared for us, and we can't wait to see all the drama come to life on the big screen. In the meantime, though, we've decided to round up the real-life places where the film was shot and the magic was made. Here are five Wicked: For Good filming locations, plus some glimpses we've gotten at them in the released trailers (so minor spoilers ahead): 1. Belmont Nurseries, Norfolk, UK Joe Giddens - Pa Images / Getty Images / (C)IGN / Via youtube.com If you squint your eyes and look in the background of Glinda and Elphaba gazing at each other, you'll see a bunch of blurry red tulips. These are part of Belmont Nurseries, located near King's Lynn in Norfolk, England. Nine million tulips were planted for the production of the films, making the magical realism of Oz that much more enjoyable. You can buy tickets to visit Belmont Farms (or even purchase a bulb box) when it opens to the public, typically around April or May, to raise money for charity. Be sure to get in quick, though, as the nursery is only open during the two-week blooming period for the tulips each year. 2. And the short clip we got in the trailer of Glinda and Elphaba having a wand versus broom spar in the middle of Munchkinland makes the anticipation of the film's release that much more intense. Now, you can't actually walk onto this set (as it has already been deconstructed), but you can visit the historic village in East Buckinghamshire, England, for a countryside walk or hike with a beautiful view. If you do find yourself visiting, you might notice the landscape from movies including Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire and Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, which also used the location for certain scenes. 3. Seven Sisters Country Park, East Sussex, UK Athanasios Gioumpasis / Getty Images / (C)Universal Pictures / Via youtube.com Another location reportedly used for both films is the visually stunning cliffs of Seven Sisters Country Park in East Sussex, situated in southeastern England. In addition to serving as the backdrop for Cynthia Erivo's unforgettable rendition of "The Wizard and I" in the first film, it appears the cliffs are making a reappearance, as a clip from the final trailer briefly shows Elphaba soaring around a cliffside with two flying monkeys trailing behind. You can see the real Seven Sisters cliffs for yourself in a few different ways, including hiking all or a portion of the 14-mile-long coastal trail, kayaking or paddleboarding in the Cuckmere River, or taking one of the cycling paths to explore all that the park has to offer. 4. Cuckmere River, East Sussex, UK Herbysussex / Getty Images / (C)Universal Pictures / Via youtube.com You'll likely recognize the winding Cuckmere River from its appearance in the Shiz University arrival scene in Wicked. Now, we've gotten another glimpse of what appears to be the bending body of water in the Wicked: For Good final trailer (with some added twists and turns, possibly due to some magical CGI touches), so we can only assume it'll be used in other yet-to-be-revealed scenes.
