Another woman has come forward with troubling allegations against Jeremy Renner - and he has now responded. On Monday, a filmmaker named Yi Zhou began posting shocking claims against the 54-year-old to her social media. She and the Marvel star collaborated on the documentary Chronicles of Disney, but their interactions sound anything but professional now. Across several Instagram posts, the 37-year-old claimed she has "lived with fear for [her] safety and deep distress over the treatment [she has] endured" over the past several months - allegedly inflicted by Jeremy. She began: "I feel profound despair that a project created to uplift below-the-line artists @chroniclesofdisney and to celebrate the history of one of the world's most beloved companies, Disney, has been damaged by online trolling and by the misconduct of Jeremy Renner." She says Renner sent inappropriate photos and videos to her, apparently in an attempt to date her? Even more shocking, she says it worked! Yi Zhou describes being convinced he was ready to be in a solid relationship: "Mr. Renner first contacted me directly in June, sending personal and intimate photographs of himself, behavior that, according to public reports, he has exhibited before. He convinced me of his sincerity, saying he had been single for a long time and open to a long-term relationship. I believed in him, in the power of love, and in the possibility of redemption." She did not mention any abusive or predatory behavior at that time - the comments we've seen seemed rather more about his lack of respect for her as a professional. Like this one, in which she demanded he like her comments, the way other stars had: "Why I need to be ignored not followed and no like on my kind comments like other artists or talents have. She told the outlet: "We have been in a relationship." Not only did the sometime Chanel model say Renner had "found new love" with her, she said they'd even written a love song together. She said about the romance at the time: "As a single man for many years, he has the liberty to decide how to live his personal life. If he wanted something short or casual, or if he preferred not to commit, that is his choice." About the comments she was leaving, she explained that she'd finally learned of those years-old allegations by Renner's ex-wife Sonni Pacheco and got upset with him: "We have this documentary coming out, and it was shocking for me to read these things. So I commented publicly. I shouldn't have. I deleted because I chose to believe and give a chance to somebody who wants to amend. He deserves another chance in life. After the accident he's willing to change, and I want to believe that." This was all uncharacteristically forthcoming for Renner, who has always been extremely private about his private life. She complains he has "allowed without stepping up for false information to spread through fan accounts falsely claiming that the documentary was generated by AI and denying any personal relation or professional collaboration." It's clear there is animosity here about the professional as well as the personal. The ICE Threat But one of the most awful allegations came, she says, when she learned of those abuse allegations from his ex. Yi says when she called him out on his behavior, he threatend to call ICE on her: "When I called him out privately about his past misconduct and asked him to behave properly, to respect me as a woman and as a filmmaker, he threatened to call immigration/ICE on me, an act that deeply shocked and frightened me.
