Studio 8's Jeff Robinov is set to produce the project, having last worked with the studio's specialty label, Focus, on Robert Eggers-directed horror film, Nosferatu. Plot details for the spec, described as an "all-audience adventure", are being kept under wraps. EVP of production and development Matt Reilly will oversee the project for Universal. Jolly, who is repped by CAA, Writ Large, and Lichter Grossman, wrote The Belly of the Beast, which has Andrew Haigh attached to direct and Ben Stiller and Colin Farrell attached to star. The true-crime movie stars stiller as novelist Norman Mailer, who befriended convict Jack Henry Abbott (Farrell). Robinov most recently released the Apple TV movie The Instigators, starring Matt Damon and Casey Affleck and Egger's Nosferatu, which earned over $180 million at the box office.
