There's at least one person who is sticking up for Kim Kardashian's new show, All's Fair, amid all the brutal reviews! Despite a stellar cast, including Kim, Glenn Close, Naomi Watts, Sarah Paulson, Niecy Nash-Betts, and Teyana Taylor, critics are NOT raving about the show after the premiere of the first three episodes this week! In fact, it earned a shocking 0% on Rotten Tomatoes! And one review even went as far as to call it the "worst TV drama ever!" Damn! As Ed Power of The Telegraph put it: "Even more striking than her lack of thespian chops, however, is her complete absence of screen presence. She has no aura, no unfiltered charisma. Forget an X factor, Kardashian has a Zzzzzz... quality that threatens to lull the unprepared viewer into a stupor whenever she opens her mouth." Yikes!!! After the public made it clear they're not fans of All's Fair, the director is coming forward to defend it! Anthony Hemingway, who is an executive producer and directed four episodes, addressed the harsh criticisms of the legal drama to The Hollywood Reporter on Wednesday, saying: "You're not going to please everybody. You may have certain criticisms, while there are a million others who love it. I think the show holds a mirror up to each person who watches it. It's just about: Can you connect to it or relate to it, and see yourself? It may be out of your league, it may not be anything you can connect to, and I think that goes for anything that gets presented on screen." He has a point! Anthony "personally" loves the show despite all the negative opinions surrounding it at the moment, though. He continued: "It's entertainment, it's a comedy, and it's a matter of finding ways to tap into real conversations and real human dynamics in a different way. Every time you meet any sort of difference, it takes a minute to either develop a taste for it or not. It may not be for you, and that's OK, but I personally enjoy the show. I had a lot of fun relating to it in my own way. Not everything is for everybody, and you can't also expect one person to define something and for that be the totality of what it is - I don't agree with that." Ultimately, Anthony believes that "sometimes things may take time" before people get fully on board with a show. No one knows that better than him. He recalled: "I did The Wire. No one liked the show when it was out. They hated it. They didn't watch it. Two people watched it every week. But it got to a point where it found a moment. I'm not comparing the show to The Wire - let's get that straight - but it's an example of how people can react to something in one moment and it becomes something totally different in another time." This is true! But will the public change their opinions about All's Fair? We'll see! For now, it's not looking good! But Anthony stressed the series does pick up eventually, saying: "The show takes a minute to get into gear, but I do feel like it is absolutely striking something that is refreshing and creatively fulfilling. Hmm. Time will tell if viewers agree with him. What are your thoughts, Perezcious readers? Do you plan to watch All's Fair until the end? Or are you over it already? Sound OFF in the comments!
