Actors Brendan Fraser and Rachel Weisz are reportedly in talks to reprise their iconic roles in a new The Mummy film. Internally screaming to see these two reunited on-screen! The film is set to be directed by filmmakers Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett-a.k.a. Radio Silence- the duo behind Ready or Not and the new Scream film released in 2022. Both of the films were directed by Stephen Sommers, and was a worldwide success, grossing over $400 million globally.
The story followed Rick O'Connell, a treasure hunter and a former French Foreign Legion soldier, and Evelyn Carnahan an Egyptologist, as the two left for Egypt to uncover treasures and accidently unleashed an ancient Egyptian high priest, Imhotep. The second installment shows them as a married couple with a son, continuing on with their adventures. The thrilling plot and undeniable chemistry between the lead actors propelled the film into a cult classic status, garnering a huge fan following over the years. There has been no official statement released by Universal Pictures, so it is still unclear what the plot of the new film is, or which cast member has been confirmed.
