Two-time Oscar winner Magnusson is producing the film alongside British music star and Britain's Got Talent Judge Alesha Dixon, as well as actor-producer Theresa Godly (Bridgerton, Law & Order) and Joyce Allen from Women in Film & Television Ohio. The Danish producer is best known for his Academy Award-winning shorts Election Night (1998) and Helium (2013). His newest short film, written and directed by Phil Dunn, follows the wrongful detainment of a dancer by a police officer and soon transforms into a "a surreal epiphany of poetry, music and dance, forcing them to confront their shared humanity and the unseen forces that shape them." LaFleur, a rising star based in L.A., has appeared in the likes of Speakeasy, Wild West Chronicles and The Night Passenger. On stage, he has just completed a sold-out Hollywood run opposite Alretha Thomas (This is Us) in A Girl's Guilt Trip. "This is a dream come true." LaFleur said. "Fire Lily is timely and stunningly unique. I'm ecstatic to be part of this project and the world-class team bringing it to life so close to my hometown."
