Kayla Nicole's Halloween costume this year was about Taylor, just not the one you think! Last Friday, the sports journalist showed off her look for the spooky season - and many clocked it as a clapback against Taylor Swift! There are lyrics on the pop star's track Opalite that fans believe bash Travis Kelce's ex-girlfriend, and she took the shade a step further by sending a gift to Kay's nemesis, Teyana Taylor. Kayla then decided to get a dig in of her own by dressing up as Toni Braxton from the music video for He Wasn't Man Enough, complete with the same strappy silver dress and full-on choreography! While recreating the dance from the video, the lyrics playing were: "Do you know I dumped your husband, girlfriend? Do you know he begged to stay with me? He wasn't man enough for me." And still getting played todayyyy ???????????? #halloween25 #ToniBraxton #ToniBraxtonCostume #fyp ♬ original sound - iamkaylanicolesweetie It is so obviously a jab at Taylor! At least that is what everyone thought! But according to Kayla, it's NOT! Well, sort of not! She admitted on her Pre-Game podcast on Saturday that her costume was inspired by someone named Taylor - but not the singer! What?! The 34-year-old podcast host explained that she recreated the He Wasn't Man Enough music video look due to a "very specific" childhood memory. She continued: "I had a white best friend. Her name was Taylor, and her mom's name was Pam. And she [had] the only house I could go over to as a kid because my mom didn't play them type of games. I specifically remember driving home from private school in my uniform in the back of a paddy wagon with Taylor, and her mom was playing this song, playing it at the top of her lungs." Back then, Kayla said she experienced an "ah ha moment" and remembered thinking to herself: "Wow, white people listen to black people music as well. And I honestly really bond with her, because like this is exactly what my mom be playing." Look, the story could really be the inspiration behind the costume. However, there is no way this isn't also shade aimed at Mz. Swift! We mean, come on! The lyrics say it all! Watch her explanation of the look (below): Do you buy Kayla's story, Perezcious readers?
