Danielle Fishel's former Boy Meets World costars Rider Strong and Will Friedle are not holding back when it comes to defending her as she continues to compete on Dancing With the Stars. "Carrie Ann [Inaba] has her favorites, and she'll have two or three that no matter what they do, they could walk on the stage, trip, hit their face, and she'd be like, 'You tried so hard, 9!'" Friedle, 49, said on the Saturday, November 1, episode of the "Pod Meets Twirl'd" podcast. Friedle continued, "Danielle does the best thing where she's doing triple flips and she's like, 'You've got to hold your shoulders different too,' and it's like, 'What the f***?'" Strong, for his part, agreed with Friedle's assessment of judges Inaba, Derek Hough and Bruno Tonioli scoring Fishel's performances. Danielle Fishel Reacts to Carrie Ann Getting Booed on 'DWTS' Dedication Night "I'm with you, man. I held back the anger. I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt. At this point, it's starting to feel like a personal vendetta," Strong, 45, shared. "Are you guys open to the potential that Danielle might be working her ass off?" Strong and Friedle's comments came days after Fishel, 44, and partner Pasha Pashkov performed a Viennese waltz to Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars' "Die With a Smile" on Halloween Night and earned a 33 out of 40 from the judges. The score was a slight dip from the previous week's 36 out of 40, where Fishel and Pashkov earned their first 9s of the season with an Argentine tango to Wicked star Cynthia Erivo's "No Good Deed." "I'm so happy," Fishel gushed of the 9s during an exclusive interview with Us Weekly. "All I wanted a couple of weeks ago was just like an eight, and then last week we got an eight. And I never thought that we would jump eights to get to a nine, but we did. And I just, I mean, that shock on my face up there was real. I'm so happy." Earlier in the season, Fishel paid tribute to her BMW roots by dedicating a dance to costar William Daniels - who also joined her and Pashkov on stage. Friedle, meanwhile, supported his pal from his seat in the ballroom alongside other BMW alums while Strong was absent because he was "working out of town," according to Fishel. How Danielle Fishel Avoids 'Overthinking' About Feedback From 'DWTS' Judges The performance was met with praise from Tonioli, who gushed that it was a "wonderful number." Inaba, however, shared that she felt like she was watching "the same dance over and over." For Fishel's eighth week in the competition, she admitted that her and Pashkov's routine for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Night has led to some struggles. "We are doing 'Dream On' by Aerosmith," Fishel said during the Monday, November 3, episode of her "Danielle With the Stars" podcast. "We are telling the story about how difficult it can be to be a woman in society where we are somehow always too much and also never enough. No matter what choice you make, whether you work inside the home or outside the home. If you choose to work outside then you're selfish and your children need you and where is their mother, and if you work inside the home, then you are boring and don't have interests." "And if you get botox and fillers then you're not aging gracefully, and if you age gracefully, then you look old and ugly. And if you are too thin, you're told to eat a burger and if you gain weight you're told to get off the couch. There's no winning, and having been in the public eye and on TV since I was 10 years old, I have been under a microscope, and my choices have been scrutinized. I've made terrible mistakes. ... And I'm resistant to it because it's triggering so many things in me." Fishel explained that the preparation led to "a lot of negative self-talk," "disordered eating" and "all these things that are so personal." Instead of "leaning into" the dance, she's been met with feelings of not wanting to "do it." "So it's been a rough week," she said while speaking with former DWTS pro Louis van Amstel. "But I think the fact that I realized it, made me wake up and think, one, so happy to be talking to you and for you to give me the advice you gave me because it really lands and resonates, but also, it's very clear that this is striking an emotional cord for me and there's a reason for that and this dance actually means something." Dancing With the Stars airs on ABC and Disney+ Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET, with new episodes streaming the next day on Hulu. Prove your DWTS fandom with Us Weekly and Bracketology.tv!
