Deion Sanders had the support of his rumored girlfriend, Karrueche Tran, as the NFL Hall of Famer was preparing to undergo major surgery earlier this year. In a video shared on Monday, July 28, an emotional Tran, 37, was seen by Sanders' bedside in May, as the University of Colorado head football coach, 57, prepared to have his bladder removed after being diagnosed with bladder cancer. "We are here at the hospital because we are dealing with...," Tran said, as she wiped away tears, unable to finish the sentence. Tran recovered enough to whisper, "We are dealing with bladder cancer. He is having his bladder removed." Unlikely Celebrity Couples Over the Years Sitting just feet away from Tran, Sanders said he was "texting the boys" before his operation. Sanders is the father of five children. The former Dallas Cowboys wide receiver shares daughter Deiondra, 33, and son Deion Jr., 31, with his first wife, Carolyn Chambers. He shares sons Shilo, 25, and Shedeur, 23, and daughter Shelomi, 21, with second wife Pilar Biggers-Sanders. Deion and Pilar, 50, finalized their divorce in 2013. Us Weekly has reached out to representatives for Sanders and Tran for comment on their relationship. According to TMZ, Sanders and Tran - an actress who previously dated Chris Brown and split from former NFL star Victor Cruz in February 2021 after three years of dating - were recently spotted on a lunch date together. Sanders announced his bladder cancer diagnosis during a press conference on Monday. "This wasn't easy," Sanders said. "Men, everybody, get checked out. Because if it wasn't for me getting tested for something else, they wouldn't have stumbled up on this." Sanders underwent a CT scan earlier this year because of previous blood clot issues that led to two of his toes being amputated in 2021. The scan showed a growth around his bladder, which led to Sanders being referred to an oncologist. The oncologist ultimately discovered and diagnosed the cancer on April 14. Dr. Janet Kukreja, the director of urological oncology at the University of Colorado, was on hand for Monday's press conference and said that Sanders was "cured." Deion Sanders Said He'd Write Travis Hunter's Prenup in Resurfaced Video Kukreja explained that Sanders' cancer did not spread as it does in approximately 50 percent of cases. When that does happen, Kukreja said, patients only have a five-year survival rate of roughly 10 percent. Sanders vowed to return to the field this fall when the Buffaloes open the 2025 season, but acknowledged he's still adjusting to his new circumstances. "Right now I'm still dealing with going to the bathroom," he said on Monday. "It's a whole life change. I'm going to be transparent, I can't pee like I used to pee." Colorado opens the regular season at home on August 29 against Georgia Tech.
