Referencing a recent private meeting, the insider said: "Hugh had heard about Deb's plans but he didn't really know until she told him herself during their secret meet-up." That must've been an uncomfortable conversation!! Everyone saw this coming since the moment they announced their separation in September 2023. It's just such a classic move after a high-profile split. Add in all those viral Sutton Foster affair claims, and it's a no-brainer Deb would try to cash in on this dramatic split! Despite all the headline-grabbing drama, Hugh was hoping the Australian actress wouldn't do it! The source added: "He'd been warned early on that almost every A-list divorcee is approached to write a book but part of him hoped Deb wouldn't take that fat publisher's cheque." Interestingly, he almost got his wish! When the filmmaker was first approached with the idea to write a memoir, she reportedly turned it down! She eventually changed her mind, though, when she determined it might be a "cathartic" experience. And we bet the money was good! That said, the source stressed that the philanthropist isn't after "revenge." Yes, she'll be writing about her 27-year marriage to the A-lister, reflecting on adopting and raising their two kids, Oscar, 25, and Ava, 20, and get into the heartbreaking split and what her life has been like after. We suspect she'll also address all those Sutton rumors. But this isn't about attacking her ex-husband. Instead, she's using the tell-all as a way to find her voice again, prioritize herself, and jumpstart her career again after having to put it on pause to raise the kids, the source explained. The exes had been working hard trying to stay friendly for their kids' sake. It'll be inneresting to see if they can keep that up as Deb nears publication.
