Stars, they're just like us.by Ellen DurneyBuzzFeed StaffFacebookPinterestLink It was the New York City marathon on Sunday, so you know what that means: I'm oddly emotional and have a new surge of motivation to get outside and run. I love many things about major marathons: the stories, the signs, the looks. But, as a pop culture obsessive, I also like to indulge in a bit of celebrity spotting. Whether it's NYC, Boston, London, Chicago, Berlin, or even Tokyo (hi, Harry Styles), you can bet that a handful of celebs will be out there in their finest Lycra running the marathon alongside everyone else. And, if being beautiful and talented wasn't already enough, some of these famous folks crossed the finish line with seriously fast times, leaving me to wonder: When do they even get the time to train for this stuff? (Mr. Styles, I'm once again talking to you.) It varies a lot, but the average time it takes to complete a marathon (26.2 miles) is about 4 hours and 30 mins (more specifically, about 4:45 for women, and 4:20 for men). So, if you enjoy running, famous people, and being nosey like me, here's a list of celebs who've run marathons over the years and what their times were (prepare to be shocked). Fun fact: He claimed to be high on LSD during this particular race in Los Angeles in 2023, so I'm not sure if that makes his time more or less impressive. Meg Oliphant / Getty Images 18. Will Ferrell ran the 2003 Boston Marathon in 3:56:12. Next time I'd like him to do it in the Buddy the Elf costume. Steve Grayson / Getty Images 19.
