Pilou Asbæk, known for his work on Game of Thrones and Foundation, will co-star in the indie film adaptation of author Jo Nesbo's 2015 crime thriller, The Hollywood Reporter has learned exclusively. Previously announced castmembers include Benedict Cumberbatch, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Eva Green, Emma Laird and Ben Mendelsohn. Blood on Snow centers on hit man Olav (Taylor-Johnson), who falls in love with his mob boss' wife after being hired to kill her. Production on the film began earlier this year in Latvia. THR previously reported that Cumberbatch stepped in to replace Tom Hardy, who was set to star and produce before exiting due to a scheduling conflict. "Being part of Blood on Snow has been an incredible experience," says Asbæk. "The team, cast and crew are exceptional, and I'm proud to be involved in a project that has so much heart. I can't wait for audiences to see it." Asbæk is known for his role as pirate Euron Greyjoy on HBO's Game of Thrones. He currently stars on the third season of the Apple TV+ series Foundation and is set to appear in director-star Michael B. Jordan's forthcoming Amazon MGM Studios feature The Thomas Crown Affair. Asbæk's other previous credits include the series Borgen, The Borgias and The Investigation and such movies as Salem's Lot, Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom and I.S.S. Fukunaga (True Detective, No Time to Die) directs Blood on Snow from a script by Nesbo and Ben Power. Producers include Mike Larocca and Michael Schaefer for Department M, along with Fukunaga, Nesbo, Tracey Seaward, Niclas Salomonsson, Youtchi von Lintel and Dean Baker.
