You might be a little crunched for time, but if you've got nothing else going on on Halloween, then there's no better excuse to marathon all the Scream installments. With six films and a three-season TV show, it's a lot of ground to cover. But Halloweekend is three days long - that's plenty of time for the ultimate binge-watch. The films follow a group of friends from Woodsboro, California, being eternally terrorized by different people taking on the Ghostface persona. Watch With Us has every platform where you can settle in for a Screamathon this weekend. What to Know About 'Scream 7' After Melissa Barrera, Jenna Ortega's Exits Scream (1996) The first film in the celebrated series follows students at Woodsboro High School who find themselves terrorized by a mask-donning serial killer known as Ghostface. This all just happens to coincide with the anniversary of the murder of their friend Sidney Prescott's (Neve Campbell) mother. Is her mother's killer back, or is an all-new killer taunting her? Arguably the best film in the Scream series, the first Scream can be streamed for free on Pluto TV and with subscriptions on Hulu and Paramount+. Scream 2 (1997) The second film in the series follows Sidney and the survivors of the Wossboro Massacre who have since graduated high school and have now moved on to college, where they are once again targeted by a ruthless killer fashioning himself just like Ghostface. Who is this horrific copycat killer, and was he inspired towards violence by the proliferation of the Stab films (metafictional movies satirizing Scream itself)? While not as good as the first film, Scream 2 is still a gory good time. You can stream it for free on Pluto TV and with subscriptions on Hulu and Paramount+. Scream 3 (2000) Another Ghostface killer comes back for more in Scream 3, which finds our friend Sidney Prescott having gone into voluntary isolation to protect herself from more sadistic Ghostface copycats. She is ultimately drawn to Hollywood when a new killer has begun taking out cast members of the newest Stab film, Stab 3. Scream 3 ramps up the comedic and metatextual elements in this third installment, which is akin to a "whodunit" mystery. It's available to watch for free on Pluto TV. With paid subscriptions, streamers can also watch it on Hulu and Paramount+. Scream 4 (2011) Over a decade later, director Wes Craven returns to his franchise with a fourth installment that would ultimately be his last film before he passed away in 2015. Scream 4 follows some new characters while bringing back Campbell, David Arquette and Courteney Cox. Surprise! Ghostface is back on the 15th anniversary of the Woodsboro Massacre, now killing new students at Woodsboro High. Scream 4 is an overall improvement in quality from the previous two Scream films and an effective satire of internet fame and social media. Scream 4 can be streamed for free on Tubi, in addition to subscriptions with Paramount+ and AMC+. Scream (2022) For some reason not called Scream 5, Scream continues the story of the Ghostface killer, twenty-five years following the events of the original Woodsboro murders. This new Ghostface has begun targeting a new group of teenagers who live in Woodsboro and all bear links to the original killings. Scream is a decidedly mixed bag, but definitely worth watching for a franchise completionist. It can be watched with a subscription on Hulu and Paramount+. Scream VI (2023) Ghostface takes Manhattan to torment the survivors of the last film, in the sixth installment of the Scream series, which opted for Roman numerals instead of regular numbers for some reason. With new series leads Sam (Melissa Barrera) and Tara (Jenna Ortega) introduced in Scream (2022) returning, Scream VI also features a surprise return from a Scream 4 player in addition to some of the original films' cast. While not as good as the first four films, Scream VI is decidedly better than 2022's Scream, and it's fun to watch Ghostface play around in New York City. You can watch Scream VI with a subscription to Paramount+. Scream (2015-2019) If you thought there weren't already enough Scream movies, you're in luck - there are also three seasons of a TV show. The first two seasons of the Scream series take place in Lakewood, Louisiana, surrounding a killer known as the Lakewood Slasher - a spiritual sibling to Ghostface. With a network shake-up, the third season featured a new cast of characters and setting. Which OG Stars Are Returning for 'Scream VII'? What the Cast Has Said Unfortunately, there's nowhere to stream the Scream series at the moment. However, all seasons are available for purchase on YouTube, and if you've already seen the first two seasons, you can buy season 3 on Amazon Prime Video.
