NBC / Via youtube.com "Oh yeah, that's true, I did one here," Jesse replied. "I'm actually donating my kidney in six weeks, I really am." NBC / Via youtube.com As Craig and the other hosts expressed their surprise and admiration, Jesse continued: "I don't know why. I got, like, bitten by the blood donation bug. I love it." NBC / Via youtube.com "I'm doing an altruistic donation mid-December," he went on. "I'm so excited to do it."For reference, an altruistic donation is when somebody donates an organ to a stranger who is selected based on medical compatibility. "I didn't see that coming!" Craig admitted, going on to explain that he just wanted to mention how staff at the blood drive were left impressed by Jesse's surprise appearance - and how he even helped to set up the tables and chairs for the event. Gregg Deguire / Getty Images In a separate interview with Today.com, Jesse said of his kidney donation: "It's essentially risk-free and so needed. I think people will realize that it's a no-brainer, if you have the time and the inclination." Jb Lacroix / Getty Images He also revealed that under the National Kidney Foundation's family voucher program, his donation means that his immediate relatives would receive priority if they ever required a kidney donation in the future. "The way it works now is you can put a list of whoever you would like to be the first to be at the top of the list," Jesse shared. "So it's risk-free for my family, as well." In addition to commending Jesse for his kind gesture, social media users have been left amused by the casual way he spoke about it - especially how he said: "I don't know why."
