King Charles III had support from Prince William regarding his decision to remove Prince Andrew's title and evict him from the Royal Lodge amid the fallout from his sexual assault scandal. Us Weekly understands that the decision was made by Charles, 76, following serious lapses in judgement shown by Andrew, 65. He apparently received full support from the royal family - including William, 43. (It's been widely reported that the Prince of Wales has drama with his uncle.) A statement obtained by Us from Buckingham Palace on Thursday, October 30, further revealed that Andrew would now be known as "Andrew Mountbatten Windsor," while his "lease on Royal Lodge has, to date, provided him with legal protection to continue in residence." The statement continued, "Formal notice has now been served to surrender the lease and he will move to alternative private accommodation. These censures are deemed necessary, notwithstanding the fact that he continues to deny the allegations against him." Why King Charles Acted Now - and Not Sooner - Against Brother Prince Andrew William's support isn't surprising, as several royal experts have suggested that Princess Kate Middleton may have been at the root of ongoing problems between Andrew and the Prince of Wales. Christopher Andersen, royal author of The King: The Life of Charles III, told Us exclusively ahead of Charles' major move that Andrew "was never welcoming towards Kate" when she joined the royal fold. "Andrew has never been a great judge of character, so it's not surprising that he would resent someone as stellar as Kate eclipsing him and pretty much everyone else in the monarchy," Andersen continued, further calling Andrew "a snob." Fellow royal expert Hilary Fordwich further discussed Andrew's issues with Kate, 43, in a recent interview with Fox News Digital. "Being fiercely protective, he instituted a zero-tolerance policy toward any wayward behavior or scandals involving Prince Andrew." The Prince of Wales was "infuriated" over Andrew's comments. "All the more daunting for Andrew was his displacement as his mother's 'golden boy' since he was viewed as Queen Elizabeth II's favorite," Fordwich claimed. "His resentment grew with his plummeting popularity and was then further exacerbated by Kate's prominence and poise." The start of Andrew's eviction comes six years after the late Virginia Giuffre alleged in 2019 that she had been trafficked by late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein when she was a teen in 2001 and forced to have sexual relations with the former Duke of York. She died by suicide at age 41 this past April. Her memoir, Nobody's Girl, was released posthumously on October 21, including more details regarding her allegations against Andrew and Epstein. Andrew, who has continued to deny the allegations against him, announced on October 17 that he would be giving up his royal titles. "In discussion with The King, and my immediate and wider family, we have concluded the continued accusations about me distract from the work of His Majesty and the Royal Family," he said in a statement obtained by Us. "I have decided, as I always have, to put my duty to my family and country first. I stand by my decision five years ago to stand back from public life."
