The specific details of New York Giants running back Cam Skattebo's season-ending injury have been revealed. Skattebo, 23, suffered an open tibia fracture and ruptured deltoid ligament in addition to a right ankle dislocation, according to ESPN. The open fracture means Skattebo's bone penetrated the skin, meaning he needed emergency surgery. Skattebo was taken to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center where he immediately underwent the procedure. The Giants star, who was in the midst of a breakout rookie season, was carted off the field during the second quarter of the team's game against the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday, October 26, after his leg became mangled between the field and Eagles' linebacker Zack Baun.
