At an increasing number of high-end properties across Los Angeles and beyond, amenities for pets now rival those for A-listers. Pool decks once off-limits to animals now feature water toys. Bowls, beds and room service menus are tailored to four-legged guests. Even concierge services come with paws-on attention. THR takes a look at the five hotels treating pets like VIPs (Very Important Poodles). Related Stories Hollywoof! Jet Set Pets: The Booming Business of Dog-Friendly Airlines Hollywoof! One standout menu item: grass-fed ground steak molded into the shape of a paw, with hotel-garden carrots as the pads. Pooch beds are covered in suede, topped with monogrammed towels and flanked by ribbon-wrapped wee-wee pads. Too busy for a walk? The Peninsula's uniformed pages will escort your dog (poop bags in hand). No pet? No problem. The concierge can connect guests with breeders - or invite them to adoption events hosted on-site. "People bring me sweet potatoes from Erewhon and ask me to roast them for their dogs," says the hotel's executive chef. He obliges. The Four Seasons Beverly Hills "We like to treat our furry friends with the same level of care and attention that we do our human guests," says a hotel rep - and they mean it. The new partnership with boutique Doggie Deli brings jerkies in venison, grass-fed Angus and even blueberry varieties. The kitchen bakes its own biscuits, and the room service menu includes hits like the Pescatarian Poodle (grilled salmon, asparagus, rice). Staff are known to pitch in with impromptu dog-sitting; when one guest had to rush out for a medical emergency, their Bernese mountain dog, Gus, spent the day behind the front desk, name tag and all. The Maybourne Beverly Hills The Maybourne Beverly Hills offers a multicourse pet menu. In-room amenities include homemade biscuits iced with the dog's name and a separate multicourse pet menu: oatmeal with blackberries and sweet potato for breakfast, poached chicken with rice and parsley for dinner, and peanut butter cookies or apple crisps for dessert. Park Hyatt Aviara At this coastal resort in Carlsbad, arriving pets are given neckerchiefs before strutting the grounds. After hikes, they return to cushy beds and room service options like beef with brown rice, bacon strips and whipped cream dessert. Even better, 10 percent of pet menu proceeds, 50 percent of pet fees and a portion of the hotel's "Bark at the Park" cocktail sales go to the San Diego Department of Animal Services. Bowls, beds and bandanas are placed in every pet-friendly room, and dogs are welcome on all outdoor dining terraces. (They're not allowed in the spa or on the golf course - but for that kind of pampering, you and your pooch can always take Bark Air.)
