The fifth season of Only Murders in the Building solved the mystery of Lester's murder - and revealed whose death is the focus of season 6. In the Tuesday, October 28, season finale, Mayor Beau Tillman (Keegan-Michael Key) was unmasked as the man who was sleeping with Sofia (Téa Leoni), which Nicky (Bobby Cannavale) found out. The night of Lester's (Teddy Coluca) death, Nicky cut off Beau's finger. After Nicky attacked Beau, Lester got involved, which led to Nicky's death. Lester was then hunted down by Beau because he wanted his finger back. The doorman was able to text his wife the identity of the person who was about to kill him (which was autocorrected). Beau briefly kept Mabel (Selena Gomez), Oliver (Martin Short) and Charles (Steve Martin) from exposing the truth, but they were able to alert the public. The trio was also able to save the Arconia after Camila White (Renée Zellweger) bought the building to replace it with a casino, thanks to Jay (Logan Lerman) confessing to the billionaires' involvement in covering up the murder. Every Suspect in Lester's Death on 'Only Murders in the Building' Season 5 Three months later, Sofia helped Lester's wife get an apartment in the building while Nicky's widow left for Italy. Howard (Michael Cyril Creighton), meanwhile, was dating one of Sofia and Nicky's sons. Mabel, Oliver and Charles were preparing to listen to Cinda Canning's (Tina Fey) newest podcast about a woman who is the main suspect in the murder of a royal descendant. They then headed out to see a woman with the same features who intentionally died on the grounds of the Arconia so the trio could solve her murder. The woman? None other than Cinda. Only Murders in the Building, which premiered in 2021, follows Mabel, Oliver and Charles as they solve mysterious deaths that take place in their New York City apartment building. Season 1 explored the death of Tim Kono (Julian Cihi), the sophomore season uncovered Bunny Folger's (Jayne Houdyshell) murderer and season 3 featured Ben Glenroy's death as the main mystery (Paul Rudd) before season 4 picked up with Sazz's (Jane Lynch) death. Fall 2025 TV Schedule: See When Your Favorite Shows Will Air "I want to see [Howard] win more," Creighton noted. "It was really fun to see him solve a clue. That smile we see at the end, when the trio was like, 'You did it. You did it, you did it, Howard' and how happy he is - it would be nice to see Howard happy. I don't think we've seen him that happy. It would be nice to see him figure out what he's good at, but it's really fun to watch him struggle to find out." Creighton also suggested a potential spinoff centered around Howard. "He's traveling around country to country with his dog and he's selling mysteries. Maybe every now and then the trio comes in for a little guest star," Creighton said. "Let's just keep those fingers crossed for years to come." Only Murders in the Building is currently streaming on Hulu.
