TikTok couple Matt and Abby Howard will not be disclosing the details of their baby's health prior to their pregnancy loss. "I think we're gonna keep all of her specific medical stuff private, like we would our other children," Abby, 26, said during the Wednesday, October 22, episode of their "Unplanned" podcast. Matt, 27, agreed, saying, "We thought about sharing more, but it's just like, I don't see how that would be productive, and it's one of those things where you can do so much research on what could've gone wrong, like, something that we have that we could've gave to our kid, like, there's so many things that parents can do to beat themselves up about miscarriage. I don't think it's productive, personally." Matt also revealed that he and Abby planned to keep the name of their baby private. Influencer Matt Howard Speaks Out After Wife Abby Howard's Pregnancy Loss "Abby knew the name pretty much right away at the hospital and it was just one of those things where ... [Abby] said it right away, like, 'I don't know if I really want to tell the world our daughter's name,'" he continued. Abby and Matt announced their pregnancy loss via Instagram on September 27. "At a routine pregnancy appointment, our doctor could not find a heartbeat," Abby captioned a joint Instagram post. "Shortly after they sent us in for an ultrasound where the technician said words we will never forget, 'I am so sorry I do not have good news.'" The post continued, "That is when we got the gender reveal we never hoped for and also the news that our baby had a genetic condition that took her life around 17 weeks gestation. The news felt unimaginable." YouTube/Unplanned Podcast The influencers said they planned to take a social media hiatus following the tragic news. "The grief is absolutely devastating, but we feel so much gratitude for the time that we did get to have with her," the statement added. "And we still have hope. Hope has continued to show up for us in so many ways. For now we will grieve and continue to think of ways to honor her life offline." They concluded, "Thoughts and prayers are more than welcome. Thank you everyone for celebrating this precious life with us for the past 17 weeks." Matt and Abby are parents to sons Griffin, 3, and August, 2. The pair announced in August that they were expecting their third child. "Going for our third baby is almost more exciting than ever because now we truly know just how good it is," they told People. Abby opened up about her miscarriage on the emotional October 8 episode of their podcast, first telling listeners, "If any part of this episode is not serving you or if you're pregnant and it's making you feel fear, please, like, discern for yourself whether or not this is something you should listen to, because the last thing I want to do is to make anyone feel more fear." TikTok Stars Abby and Matt Howard's Relationship Timeline She continued, "My purpose is to find the community of people that need to hear this or want to. I don't know, hopefully [it] can do some good." Abby said that "everything was very routine" at her appointment on the day she found out about her miscarriage. "[The nurse] put a little Doppler on my abdomen, and she couldn't find anything, and it was taking a little bit. And I think, like [Matt] said, that's always spooky. That's a worst fear situation," she added. Abby said that after learning her baby didn't have a heartbeat, she decided to deliver at a hospital instead of at an abortion clinic, although she noted that she would never judge anyone for deciding differently. "That was one of the easier decisions for me, personally, just because it felt like delivering her would be, like, one of the last acts as her mom that I could take part in," she said as she fought back tears. "While that was hard, it was really not something I had to think super hard about."
