The crown of the highest grossing Indian film of 2025 has now passed from Chhaava to Kantara Chapter 1. The Rishab Shetty directorial crossed the Rs 800 crore mark in worldwide box office collections on Wednesday, overtaking Chhaava's lifetime total of Rs 807 crore. Produced by Hombale Films, the period action drama has continued its remarkable run since release, setting new records for Kannada cinema. According to Hombale Films, Kantara Chapter 1 earned Rs 717 crore worldwide within its first two weeks. The studio shared this update in a social media post on Friday.
