As Dancing With the Stars reaches the halfway point in season 34, former pros Maks Chmerkovskiy and Peta Murgatroyd are ready to share their bold predictions for who will win it all. "I have hands down Robert Irwin and Witney [Carson]," Murgatroyd, 39, exclusively shared with Us Weekly at the Dancers Against Cancer's 2025 Gala of the Stars on Tuesday, October 21. "One thousand percent. I'm not saying he's the most technical dancer. Whitney Leavitt for me is the best dancer of the season by far. She is absolutely phenomenal. But I believe Robert Irwin is going to win." According to Murgatroyd - who has won the mirrorball trophy twice with Nyle DiMarco and NFL player Donald Driver - Irwin, 21, has "the all-rounder aspect of him" that makes him quite the threat to competitors. "People just seem to really gravitate towards him and he's so kind," she said from The Beverly Hilton. "Kindness goes a long way, and his heart is so beautiful and kind. People honestly just want more Robert Irwins in the world." "I think it's going to be a battle between Robert and Witney and I think Val [Chmerkovskiy] and Alix [Earle] are going to take it," he predicted to Us. "Because there's also a huge TikTok component. You got some fans over here and you have some fans over here. You have some core fans of Dancing with the Stars, but there's also been a very big impact of TikTok fans." "I think they're also putting themselves in the category of that dance level is getting better and better," he explained. "Whereas there are some plateaus that some people hit." On Tuesday, October 28, the remaining contestants will take to the ballroom and participate in Halloween Nightmares Week. Former pro Cheryl Burke will join Carrie Ann Inaba, Derek Hough and Bruno Tonioli at the judges table for what is sure to be a spooky evening. While winning always feels good in the end, both Chmerkovskiy and Murgatroyd said their favorite memories on the show weren't exclusively reserved for finale night. "We ended up meeting so many incredible people and just becoming part of this town and made an impact," Chmerkovskiy said. "It's been an incredible journey." Away from the ballroom, the Dancing With the Stars couple was more than happy to step out for Dancers Against Cancer's annual gala. As host of the evening, Chmerkovskiy was able to help raise more than $700,000 for families affected by cancer.
