Watch: Victoria Beckham Details "Unhealthy" Relationship With Her WeightVictoria Beckham will always be there to guide her daughter Harper Beckham. Following the premiere of the Spice Girls alum's eponymous Netflix docuseries, Victoria shared how she discussed her past eating disorder with her and husband David Beckham's 14-year-old daughter. "I've talked to Harper about it because she's obviously seen the documentary," Victoria explained on the Oct. 22 episode of the Call Her Daddy podcast. "Little girls still obsess over food. It's still a big conversation at school." "I talked to her because I hadn't seen the final edit until the premiere," she continued. "I thought that this might have been left in, because obviously I knew that I talked about it. So, I just spent a bit of time talking to her about it so she could understand." During the 51-year-old's conversation with Harper, Victoria-who also shares sons Brooklyn Beckham, 26, Romeo Beckham, 23, and Cruz Beckham, 20, with the former soccer player-explained how navigating her unhealthy habits affected her mentally and physically.readVictoria Beckham Details "Unhealthy" Relationship With Her Weight"When you have an eating disorder, it makes you miserable," she recalled telling her teen. "It is sad. It is lonely. It is all-consuming. I was present for many years but not truly present. That's really tough and you just gotta talk about it." Although it wasn't an easy decision, the fashion designer doesn't regret getting vulnerable about her health struggles in Victoria Beckham. "I've had so many women message me, come up to me after seeing the documentary and say how they can relate," she told host Alex Cooper. "If my experience with it and my story can help anyone or encourage anyone to talk, that's another really good reason to have done this." As Victoria reflected on her rise to stardom in her three-part series, she shared just how much she struggled with the constant comments about her body.

"We laugh about it, we joked about it. But I was really, really young, and that hurts." "I really started to doubt myself and not like myself, because I let it affect me," she continued. "I didn't know what I saw when I looked in the mirror-you lose all sense of reality. I was just very critical of myself. I didn't like what I saw." With such a public life, Victoria recalled the particularly hurtful name-calling she endured. She noted, "I've been everything from Porky Posh to Skinny Posh. It's been a lot and that's hard."Matteo Prandoni/BFA.com/ShutterstockLooking back at that chapter in her life, Victoria shared how her eating disorder ultimately changed all of her relationships. "When you have an eating disorder, you become very good at lying," she explained. "I was never honest about it with my parents. I never talked about it publicly. It really affects you when you're being told constantly you're not good enough." Although she's since worked through her unhealthy habits, Victoria admitted that it's a mindset she still struggles with, adding, "I suppose that's been with me my whole life." Nils Jorgensen/ShutterstockVictoria Beckham Struggled After the Spice Girls Broke UpThe singer and designer born Victoria Adams married David Beckham in 1999 and was mom to 18-month-old son Brooklyn Beckham when the Spice Girls made what would be the last appearance of their original run at the 2000 MTV Europe Music Awards that November. But after the group went on indefinite hiatus (and officially disbanded in 2001), she was admittedly unsure of what to do with her life. Her family was "amazing," she explained in the 2025 Netflix docuseries Victoria Beckham, but life "felt quite slow. It felt really lonely. And I remember thinking, 'God, is anybody going to want to put me on a plane and do a photo shoot again?' And I just kept thinking, What am I going to do?" David, who figured his wife could use rest, soon realized that what she really needed was purpose. "My life didn't change," he acknowledged in the series, "because I continued along in my career and I continued to do what I loved. But it all changed for her and I think that, at the time, I didn't realize how hard that was for her."Ray Tang/ShutterstockVictoria Beckham Controlled Her Weight in an "Incredibly Unhealthy Way"Recalling all the scrutiny of her body, including being weighed on-camera six months after having Brooklyn in March 1999, "we laugh about it, and we joke about it when we're on television," Victoria said, "but I was really, really young, and that hurts."
