Watch: Antonio Banderas Reflects on Career-Defining Roles at Oscars 2023Antonio Banderas isn't masking his excitement over this major milestone.
The Mask of Zorro star recently celebrated the marriage of his daughter Stella Banderas and her longtime love Alex Gruszynski."The wedding of my daughter Stella has turned into a heartfelt family reunion, emotional, joyful, and full of laughter," Antonio wrote on Instagram Oct. 20. "Thank you to everyone who made this possible."Along with his words, the Oscar nominee shared a series of photos, both of himself and Stella throughout the years and from the wedding weekend-including one of the bride and groom and one of Antonio raising a glass in his tux.
Stella announced her engagement to Alex in August 2024, sharing a picture of her ring to Instagram and writing, "I get to hang out with my favorite person on earth forever!!!!!!!!" And it's clear her new husband has Antonio's stamp of approval."The only thing that I want if my daughter got into a relationship and now into a marriage is that she's loved. Everything else is I don't care," the Puss in Boots actor told People in February. "And she is loved, and I love the man that she decided to get married with. "She fell almost instantly in love with him," Tippi told People in 1989. "It was an adolescent crush." It was also another time. Melanie moved in with Don when she was 15, they got engaged when she was 18 and eloped to Las Vegas to tie the knot January 8, 1976-despite Don having admittedly been keeping company with a beauty queen the night before the wedding. "We thought it might work better if we were married. It didn't," Melanie told People. "I got married in order to end the relationship." They had the union annulled.

"I met her because I was working on a movie in New York, and I went down to Andy Warhol's factory," Don recalled to People in 2024. "I walked in, and standing on the table stark naked was the mother of my first son. She was doing what I think was the very first cover photo shoot for Interview magazine. She was just so beautiful and captivating." That would place their first meeting in 1973 (when Patti was on the cover on Interview, though not its first), but they didn't get together until 1981 when, legend has it, Don went to an L.A. restaurant with then-girlfriend Tanya Tucker and left with Patti. "She moved in that night," he told People in 1984. "And we stayed in bed for about eight days."Ron Galella, Ltd./Ron Galella Collection via Getty ImagesJesse JohnsonDon and Patti welcomed son Jesse Wayne Johnson on Dec. 7, 1982. At the time, Don told People that he relayed to Patti that he "can't commit to marrying right now," while she told him, "I'm not into that either." The Miami Vice star, who had battled drug and alcohol addiction, credited his young family with the start of his sobriety journey. "I walked into the breakfast room one morning," he told People in 1984. "The sun was shining, and the birds were singing, and Patti was feeding the baby. I came staggering in and sat down and looked at them, and she looked at me, and I knew that if I didn't do something, she was going to leave. So I said, 'Patti, I'm a drunk and a drug addict, and I'm going to do something about it.'" He and Patti split up i
