They could walk away and say that, of course, but I'm sure they knew I was joking."by Leyla MohammedBuzzFeed StaffFacebookPinterestLink Back in 2022, Glee star Heather Morris went viral after claiming that Jennifer Lopez once refused to hire backup dancers who were Virgos. Dia Images / Getty Images Heather, who began her career as a professional dancer before she shot to fame on Glee, recalled on the Just Sayin' podcast, "Jennifer Lopez held an audition for dancers on one of her tours...
She walks in the room and she said, 'Thank you so much, you guys have worked so hard. By a show of hands, if there are any Virgos in the room, can you just raise your hand?'" Jc Olivera / Getty Images And after "a bunch of Virgos" raised their hands, Heather claimed that J.
Lo "whispered to her assistant," looked at the dancers and said, "Thank you so much for coming." Variety / Getty Images "They had to leave after a full day of auditioning for Jennifer Lopez," Heather added, before later joking that the story was "hearsay" when asked if it was true.
Heather also said, "Most of the time [at] a dance audition, you're not getting paid, you've been there since 10 a.m. and you're auditioning until 6 p.m. You're not getting any money. People judging you the whole time." Three years on, and J.
Lo has finally addressed the viral claim herself. When asked about the story during an appearance on Watch What Happens Live last week, the Kiss of the Spider Woman star began, "You know, I've thought about this." Watch What Happens Live / Via youtube.com "I do like to joke around. I think I had just... I had maybe just had an issue with a Virgo, and I was like, 'If anybody's a Virgo here, get out!'" she said. They could walk away and say that, of course, but I'm sure they knew I was joking," she said before adding, "Or maybe they felt like I wasn't - but I was, absolutely. It was a joke." Watch What Happens Live / Via youtube.com Reacting to J.
Lo's explanation, several fans did not seem impressed. "Sounds like such a bully justification. 'I thought it was a joke... wow, they are so sensitive for not laughing at my joke.' A joke is something where everyone is laughing jlo, not only you. The dancers who left clearly weren't laughing," one Reddit user said. Kevin Mazur / Getty Images "Yes, it's funny to mess with working people's paycheck. Just hilarious. I bet their stomachs hurt from laughing so much," someone else added."Doubt the dancers found this 'joke' very funny after they spent unpaid time at this audition, only to find out that they were always going to be excluded from getting the job because of their birth month," another user echoed, while one more person said of J.
Lo, "She sounds like a nightmare to work with." Yikes. Let us know what you think in the comments.
