But in the last few seasons, she really became spoiled and immature."by Kayla YandoliBuzzFeed StaffFacebookPinterestLink In the past, we've talked about TV/movie characters who were written carelessly and deserved a whole lot better. This inspired our BuzzFeed Community to contribute even more examples. Here's what they had to say: Note: Some submissions were pulled from this Reddit thread by user u/phantom_avenger. 1. Albus Dumbledore from Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore (2022) Warner Bros. Pictures "There was one line when Dumbledore told Grindelwald he was in love with him, but that's pretty much it. Warner Bros. Pictures cut out other important dialogue in Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore. Some lines were removed in all movie theaters in China, which obviously sparked a lot of reactions from fans and the LGBTQ+ community. The fact that they did this to Dumbledore was so disheartening, especially in 2022." -BuzzFeed 2. Miranda Hobbes from And Just Like That... (2021-2025) HBO / Max "They took a character who, while being annoying and indecisive at times throughout the original Sex and the City series, was a pretty nuanced and strong woman. In the revival, they reduced her to her most negative qualities. She was never just a ball of insecurities looking for outside validation. I think that Miranda from Season 1 of Sex and the City would have laughed at the idea that she could let herself drift so far from the person she was in And Just Like That.... It was also completely unlike her to need a relationship to define who she was." -u/ZachGeorge 3. Captain America from Avengers: Endgame (2019) Marvel "After Avengers: Endgame, I rewatched the movies chronologically, and I can't move on from how Captain America so easily left behind Bucky (so much for 'I'm with you until the end of the line'). It was strange when he went back in time to be with Peggy, a woman he had only kissed ONCE. I'm all for everlasting love, but she literally had a life after him. She had a family and kids and built a life. She moved on. But then he just goes and decides to change all of that because 'sHe OwEd HiM a DaNcE.' Captain America's exit from the MCU was very out of character and in poor taste." -u/AlertAd947 4. Jenny Curran from Forrest Gump (1994) Paramount Pictures "She was abused as a child by her own father, so she didn't think she deserved happiness. Everyone thought she was just using Forrest, instead of believing she was a traumatized woman who needed help. Jenny had a lot of depth, and I wish they had explored her character getting the help she deserved." -maiteluna 5. Angela Moore from Boy Meets World (1993-2000) ABC "Not only was Angela written off the show one episode before the finale (making her the only main cast member not in it), but she was also brought back for only one episode in Girl Meets World. They said she broke up with Shawn and their relationship wasn't authentic, which was false. They got through his dad's death, her abandonment issues, and their romantic problems to become a stronger couple. Angela's character deserved so much better." -tjpen 6. Barb Holland from Stranger Things (2016-present) Netflix "She got sucked into the Upside Down, and nobody cared. They didn't go after her or try to save her at all. Later, they see her all covered in vines, and nobody even checks to see if she's alive. Then her mother is shown to be almost 'insane' from grief over not knowing what happened to her daughter, and the people who KNOW just kind of ignore her. I'd like to see Barb come back and earn some retribution." -u/McFeely_Smackup 7. Frodo Baggins from the Lord of the Rings movies New Line Cinema "In the book, Frodo is a complex character. He is brave, yet humble, wise, and thoughtful, and his mercy is a very important facet in how the story plays out. In the end, he is a perfect example of a tragic hero. But in the movies, he is shown as weak and kind of cowardly. It is a sad depletion of what he could be. You can make the same argument with Aragorn, Boromir, Faramir, Gandalf, Éowyn, and other characters. I am not bashing the movies too much. They are still a great adaptation, but it is really hard to get the nuance, the inner thoughts and motivations, and the lengthy development that you can spell out in a book, in a limited time on screen. Still, it can be a bit of dissonance to compare the book to the movie." -u/badcgi 8. Willow Rosenberg and Tara Maclay from Buffy the Vampire Slayer (1997-2003) The WB "Willow and Tara's entire relationship was just poorly written. First off, killing Tara like that was absolutely unacceptable and unnecessary - all of the 'Bury your gays' moments were bad, and Tara was just another example of that. And the pur
