No entry. For Yorgos Lanthimos' upcoming film Bugonia, a special screening is being held in Los Angeles on Monday, where attendees must be either bald or shave their heads to watch it. The moviegoers who participate will match Emma Stone's bald-headed character in the film. DoLA's Instagram posted the requirements, with a caption that reads in part, "Have hair? A barber will be on-site starting at 6 p.m. to shave it all off. Screening starts at 8 p.m. This is real. And yes, part of it will be filmed." Bugonia marks the fourth time the Oscar winner has teamed up with Lanthimos, after previously working on The Favourite (2018), Poor Things (2023) and Kinds of Kindness (2024). It sees Stone play a powerful CEO who is kidnapped and accused of being an alien. Additional castmembers include Jesse Plemons, Aidan Delbis, Stavros Halkias and Alicia Silverstone. Earlier this year, Stone opened up about shaving her head in real life for the project. She told Vogue that while the experience was like "No better feeling in the world," it was also personal to the actress. Before the haircut took place, Stone recalls she "burst into tears in her trailer" because she was thinking about her mother, Krista Stone, who previously shaved her head from breast cancer treatment. Focus Features' Bugonia will release in U.S. theaters on Oct. 24. See more information on the screening below.
