In my humble opinion, and as someone who identifies as bisexual, it's the letter that feels most forgotten in the LGBTQ+ conversation. Even more so, celebrities who identify this way are constantly overlooked and doubted - sometimes because they're in a relationship with someone from the opposite sex. So, without further ado, here are 16 celebrities talking about their bisexuality that will hopefully remind the world that we are here and we are queer. 1. Anna Paquin, married to her True Blood costar Stephen Moyer, shared an Instagram post in May 2021 that read, "I'm a #proudbisexual who is married to a wonderful human who happens to be a man." Lady Gaga, whose hits "Just Dance" and "Poker Face" are specifically about attraction to men and women, sparked debate over bisexual erasure and biphobia with a speech at the 2019 WorldPride. Kit Connor, the star of Heartstopper, reluctantly took control of the narrative on Twitter in 2022, writing, "back for a minute. i'm bi. congrats for forcing an 18 year old to out himself. i think some of you missed the point of the show. bye." Jamie Mccarthy / Getty Images Speaking with Vogue, he elaborated on the moment, saying, "I think 'forced' isn't the right word I would use, but I would say that I would have preferred to do it another way. I also don't know if I would have ever done it. But at the end of the day I don't regret it. In many ways it was really empowering." Marc Piasecki / WireImage 4. Lily Singh shared a viral social media post in February 2019 that simply read, "Female, Coloured, Bisexual" with green check marks next to each word. Kelly Balch / Getty Images She supported the declaration with a powerful statement, "Throughout my life, these have proven to be obstacles from time to time. But now I'm fully embracing them as my superpowers. No matter how many 'boxes' you check, I encourage you to do the same." Araya Doheny / Getty Images for SAG-AFTRA Foundation 5. Tessa Thompson opened up about her fluid sexuality, telling Net-A-Porter in a 2018 cover story, "I can take things for granted because of my family-it's so free and you can be anything that you want to be." Emma Mcintyre / Getty Images She continued, "I'm attracted to men and also to women. If I bring a woman home, [or] a man, we don't even have to have the discussion." Responding to a Rolling Stone article while she was married to Offset and pregnant with her first child, she tweeted, "Uuummmm @RollingStone queer baiting? You do know we was trying to hide a whole baby bump right?" Marc Piasecki / Getty Images She also addressed the nature of her then-marriage to Offset. "Also I'm married to a man but I have express soo much about my bisexuality and my experiences wit girls," she continued. "All of a sudden 'queer baiting' is the new word & people use it to the ground!" Theo Wargo / Getty Images for Global Citizen 7. Phoebe Bridgers, who was once famously part of the queer band boygenius, expressed her bi-pride in a 2023 British Vogue article with her former bandmates. "I'm so proud of our group dynamic, and as a bisexual woman in straight relationships, it feels weird to talk about it so much," she said. Cindy Ord/MG23 / Getty Images She continued, "That said, I wish there were more types of queer people visible to me when I was growing up, and when it comes to our band and our shared dynamic, I have no shame about stepping forward and being like, 'This is what we look like and how we feel and what we believe in.'"
