Bryan Bedder / Getty Images Now she's pissing MAGA off once again for criticizing JD Vance's response to Politico's report on leaked racist text messages shared among members of a Young Republicans group chat. In the messages, members used racial slurs, talked about putting their political opponents in gas chambers, referred to rape as "epic," and praised Adolf Hitler. In response, Vance attempted to change the subject to one involving uninvolved messages from Virginia attorney general nominee Jay Jones that leaked in 2022, writing, "I refuse to join the pearl clutching when powerful people call for political violence." People online questioned why both Jones and the group chat could not be criticized, and didn't love what they viewed as a lack of condemnation from Vance. Bravo / Getty Images Speaking about the group chat's messaging that appears to uphold the ideas of white nationalism, Welch said on MSNBC's All In, "[JD Vance] is married to a woman of Indian descent. He has mixed race children."Welch nailed it:"JD Vance is married to an Indian woman. He has mixed-race children. If he won't even defend them-his own family-from white supremacist jokes and Hitler worship... what makes you think he gives a damn about you?"If a man won't stand for his own, he'll sell out... pic.twitter.com/5rAtLCZ61j- Brian Allen (@allenanalysis) October 16, 2025 MSNBC / Twitter: @allenanalysis "So to all of the MAGA voters out there - if this man will not defend his wife, and will not defend his kids, do you think he gives a crap about you? Or anything to do with you?" she asked. MSNBC / Twitter: @allenanalysis WELL! YouTube: I've Had It Podcast / youtube.com As you can imagine, conservatives weren't big fans of this, calling Welch's words "disgusting commentary." Twitter: @ThomasMHern But plenty of the nearly 8 million viewers couldn't help but agree with her. Twitter: @PeterTwinklage "you guys cant spin this in a way that makes her look bad," one person wrote on X. "JD Vance is married to an indian woman, and JD Vance defends and protects racists. how can those two things be true at once? well, for one: he doesn't respect his own family." Twitter: @isitmaroon "you're mad because she's 100% right," another user agreed. Twitter: @hasanthehun They think her take is far from "disgusting." Twitter: @mattxiv As for JD, he previously kinda-sorta defended his wife against what he called attacks from white supremacists, but that defense has been criticized for being...soft.
