Alix Earle's stepmom, Ashley Dupré, garnered her own attention in the public eye after a 2008 sex scandal with a former New York governor. Dupré, who worked for luxury escort service Emperor's Club VIP, made national news after having relations with former New York governor Eliot Spitzer. Spitzer ended up resigning from his position one week after the government learned of his involvement with the escort service via a wiretap investigation. Alongside her incident with Spitzer in 2008, Dupré made news once again after she started having an affair with Alix's dad, Thomas "TJ" Earle. (TJ was married to Alisa Earle at the time. He ended up resigning from his position and his wife divorced him the following year. "He looked familiar. But I was 22 years old, I didn't, I wasn't reading the papers, I was so involved in my life and I was so selfish and caught up in my life and I didn't know who he was," she explained in a 2008 interview with ABC News. "And I was whoever they wanted me to be, and he was whoever he wanted to be." After garnering so much public attention and receiving offers for reality shows and photoshoots, Dupré continued to appear on talk shows, do some modeling and started an advice column for the New York Post called "Ask Ashley." "She was very well known from that and in turn, my dad's affair became a very public situation."
