The untitled feature will hit theaters on Nov. 19, 2027. The feature previously was set for June 12, 2026, but fell off the calendar in February. This will be the first Universal movie from Daniels (AKA Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert) following a long-term pact they inked in the summer of 2022. That deal came months before they became among the most sought after directors in Hollywood when Everything Everywhere won best picture, best director and best original screenplay at the Oscars, among other wins. The film grossed more than $100 million on a $15 million budget. Since then, the pair have directed on the Star Wars TV series The Skeleton Crew, but kept their plans for their upcoming movie under wraps. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter after inking their Universal deal, they discussed making the jump from the indie world to the realm of big budget studio filmmaking. "We love to chase things that could almost be a catastrophe," said Kwan. Noted Scheinert, "We thrive on being told no, in moderation," and added, "I am nervous about having a budget that makes us not have those tough conversations."
