More than three decades after it first hit the screens and rewrote the image of Vijayakanth in Tamil cinema, Captain Prabhakaran is set to return to theatres in a stunning 4K restoration. The action drama, directed by RK Selvamani, will re-release on August 22, ahead of the late actor-politician's birthday, across 500 screens in Tamil Nadu. The revival is being spearheaded by Karthik Venkatesan of Sparrow Cinemas, who hopes to introduce the film to a new generation while rekindling nostalgia among longtime fans.
