The movie's cast consists of Anna Sargent (writer-director Liz Sargent's sister), Victor Slezak (Hell on Wheels, The Order, Babygirl), Ali Ahn (Agatha All Along, The Diplomat, The Other Two), Marceline Hugot (Gilded Age, Black Mirror, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel) and Shane Harper (Power Book IV: Force, Hightown, A Teacher). The movie, which wrapped shooting last month in Florida, is based on a proof-of-concept short of the same name also starring Anna Sargent that premiered at Sundance in 2023, won the Grand Jury Prize at 2024's American Cinematheque's PROOF Film Festival and was the centerpiece at the White House's celebration of the 25th anniversary of the Olmstead Act. When a Florida heatwave shatters their routine, Anna's future becomes uncertain until she creates a thriving world of her own. "I'm excited to work with these incredible actors, who are approaching this process with an openmind and a deep respect for my sister Anna," writer-director Liz Sargent said in a statement. "When Icast, I'm looking for something deeply human - a personal connection that goes beyond character. It's an honor to have this cast share a piece of themselves into my family's intimate and vulnerable story." The film is produced by Apoorva Guru Charan and Minos Papas under Cyprian Films New York and All Caps. Executive producers include Ai-jen Poo and Lydia Storie for Caring Across Generations, Jane Shin Park, Andrew Kim, Philipp Engelhorn and Candice Sanchez McFarlane for Cinereach, Bill Pohlad and Kelly Martin for River Road and former Film Academy president Janet Yang. Slezak is represented by Artists & Representatives and Wright Entertainment, Ahn by Gersh Agency and ATA Management, Hugot by SMS Talent and Harper by Gersh and Luber Roklin Entertainment. AT&T Untold Stories, established in 2017 at the Tribeca Festival, each year awards one emerging filmmaker funding to make a feature film and provides mentorship, industry support and a guaranteed premiere at the next year's Tribeca Festival. Previous winners include: Faraday Okoro's NigerianPrince, Sasie Sealy's Lucky Grandma, Kate Tsang's Marvelous and the Black Hole; NardeepKhurmi's Land of Gold, So Young Shelly Yo's Smoking Tigers; David Fortune's Color Book and Lilian T. Mehrel's Honeyjoon. For the 2026 Tribeca Festival, the Untold Stories top production prize will increase from $1 million to $1.2 million. Submissions for the 2026 Untold Stories program are open through Feb. 6.
