Entertainment / Getty Images In the TikTok, Howard kicks off the interview by asking: "Your name isn't Andy?" and later admits that he can't figure out why the actor would have wanted to change his name to "Andy" of all the names in the world. "In fact, maybe David's even better.""It might be, and it's my grandfather's name, so it was kind of shitty that I changed it," Andy admitted. "Why did you hate the name David?" Howard then asked, with the actor insistent that this wasn't the case. "I didn't hate it," he said. "For some reason, when I was five, I got it in my head that it should be Andy. Howard asked after admitting that he hates his own name, and used to always wish that he were called something like David."Yeah," Andy confirmed. "It was very open-minded of my mom!" Needless to say, the people of the internet were surprised by this new tidbit of information, with one person commenting on the clip: "Grew up with Andy, never knew he changed his name." One person recalled: "I'm David and remember wanting to be 'Jack.'
