Dolan was named CEO of AMC Networks in February 2023, assuming leadership of the company that is controlled by her husband James Dolan's family. "Kristin has done a remarkable job leading AMC Networks through this period of change and has the operational background that makes her ideally suited to this role," said James Dolan, who remains chairman of AMC Networks. "Her focus on partnerships, profitability and technology has established a clear path forward. We look forward to her continued strategic leadership and management of our company's strong content and brands." That includes its linear channels, its streaming services, and deals with third-parties like Netflix, with the two companies extending their streaming pact for the "AMC Collection" last month. Of course, linear TV's challenges still weigh on the company, which is trying to navigate the rapidly-changing environment without the must-see sports content that many larger media companies have. Dolan's new contract with AMC Networks keeps her base salary at $2 million, rising to $2.1 million next April. She is also eligible for a bonus valued at 200 percent her base salary and annual grants of cash and/or equity awards with an annual aggregate target value of not less than $8 million. She also received a one-time cash award of $3 million that vests based on stock price, and a $150,000 signing bonus. In addition to AMC Networks, the Dolan family also controls MSG Entertainment, which operates Radio City Music Hall and Madison Square Garden; MSG Sports, which owns the new York Knicks NBA team and New York Rangers NHL team; and Sphere Entertainment, which owns the Sphere in Las Vegas and the MSG Networks sports cable channels.
