Denise Richards broke down in tears as she testified against her estranged husband, Aaron Phypers, and claimed his actions led to her daughter being unable to go to church, Us Weekly can report. On Wednesday, October 8, Richards, 54, who was granted a temporary restraining order on July 17, took the stand for a third day as she fights to obtain a long-term restraining order against Phypers, 53. (Phypers denies all allegations of abuse). In court, Richards admitted that she called Phypers on September 2, even though the restraining order was in place. She claimed she needed to tell him about issues with their landlord. Richards moved out of their marital home in 2023 and into her own townhome, and Phypers and his family have lived there ever since. The former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star said she wanted to avoid being sued by the landlord and called Phypers. "I called five times bc this was after I had seen [pictures] and heard .... and hearing about things he was saying about me in the press." Richards told the court she had "worked hard on her reputation." "I was so broken that he kept continuing to say such salacious things about me. Trying to destroy all of that," Richards said. She added, "It's been difficult for my daughters, especially my naked photos." "[I'm] embarrassed and ashamed that she saw all of that," Richards said about her 20-year-old daughter, Lola Sheen. Phypers sat down for several interviews after the breakup. Richards believes he provided outlets with naked photos of her but the images were not published. Richards also spoke about Phypers and his family continuing to live in her former marital home. "They've been living there for so long. This was a big problem in our marriage. I can't keep paying every month," she testified. Richards said they have been telling her for two years that they were moving out. When asked why she didn't call the police after being hit by Phypers, Richards said she felt "scared" and was trying to protect him. Richards added, "I felt like they would know and I didn't want to get Aaron in trouble." She said she "hid it" from her daughters by wearing sunglasses. She later admitted to putting an Apple AirTag on Phypers' car due to him telling her "something dangerous was going to happen and I was going to disappear." She said she wanted to track him. Phypers also testified in court today and denied all allegations of abuse. He denied laying a hand on Richards or causing her any injuries. Phypers also said he never told his ex he was going to make her "disappear."
