Francia Raísa shut down speculation that she's feuding with longtime friend Selena Gomez. "Well, right now [what] you're asking me is nonsense ... and there are too many rumors. I've never said anything," Raísa, 37, said during a recent interview on Univision's Primer Impacto, addressing accusations that Gomez, now 33, allegedly smoked after her kidney transplant. "When that rumor came out that I had gotten angry or something like that because [Selena] was smoking," Raísa recalled to the Spanish outlet, responding to claims that Gomez has never addressed herself. "I wasn't aware of those rumors. What you're asking me are rumors. No one knows what's going on, and neither she nor I are talking about it. One day, maybe we will address it." Raísa donated one of her kidneys to Gomez in 2017 amid the Only Murders in the Building star's battle with lupus. While the two actresses were once extremely close post-surgery, they drifted apart by 2022. "I don't know why the timing happened the way it did, but I remember being in St. Tropez in June and I kept talking about her. We hadn't spoken much in six years. Especially [in] the last year, we didn't speak at all. I don't know why the universe decided this timing ... then she reached out and said, 'Let's talk.'" Neither Raísa nor Gomez revealed what led to their falling-out or reconciliation. "We've never really had beef with each other. Nothing happened, and if you ask either of us, we don't know what happened but we needed that time apart," Raísa added to USA Today. "Then when you come back together, you're better people. She and I are still getting to know each other again." Months later, Raísa told Us Weekly that she approved of Gomez's now-husband, Benny Blanco. "He's the best. I got to meet him. He's really wonderful and super funny," Raísa exclusively told Us in February 2024. "I love them together. When I first met him, he wore a Dora the Explorer jacket. I was like, 'I like you.'" Gomez and Blanco went on to tie the knot late last month in a star-studded ceremony in California. (It is not known whether Raísa was present for the occasion.) "The wedding was pretty simple and not your typical 'celebrity' lavish wedding," a source exclusively told Us after the September ceremony. "They both just wanted to dance and have fun, and you could feel so much love from them." Gomez and Blanco exchanged vows in front of 170 guests, including their family, close friends and even some of Gomez's past and present costars. "What a perfect celebration for the most kickass couple I know! The evening couldn't have been more beautiful and perfect," Gomez's mother, Mandy Teefey, wrote via Instagram the next morning. "Absolutely flawless! All my love to my beautiful daughter @selenagomez and to the greatest son-in-law @itsbennyblanco!!! It was a fairy tale come true and it was beyond heartwarming watching my father walk her down the aisle!!!"
