Watch: JoJo Siwa Clarifies Her Sexuality Amid Chris Hughes RelationshipOne royal couple is rebelling against their doubters. Princess Märtha Louise of Norway and her husband Durek Verrett, whose August 2024 marriage was featured in last month's Netflix documentary Rebel Royals: An Unlikely Love Story, addressed claims that they are in a lavender marriage, a term used to describe a heterosexual marriage arrangement meant to conceal the queer identity of one or both individuals. In an Oct. 6 Instagram video, the pair displayed looks of confusion as a voice asked the question, "What's a Lavender Marriage?" Using her hand to cover the screen, the clip transitioned to Märtha Louise and Durek in new lavender-colored outfits as screengrabs of comments flittered onscreen. "The real housewife of Norway and her lavender marriage," one commenter wrote, while another added, "Girl, I don't know if you know but you are in a lavender marriage." Märtha Louise and Durek then both shook their heads before a final transition, wherein Durek dipped his wife in a dance move as they lovingly looked at each other. readJulia Fox Clarifies Her Sexuality After Coming Out as Lesbian"Ordinary isn't our thing," the final onscreen text read. "We just love." As if to really drive their point home, Durek-who self-indentifies as a shaman-captioned the joint post, "Thought it was lavender? Plot twist. It's just love and legacy." Durek-who identifies as bisexual-was married to a woman named Zaneta Marzalkova from 2005 to 2009, and engaged to a man named Hank Greenberg from 2007 to 2015. However, he explained in the doc that he was initially introduced as gay to Märtha Louise's daughters Maud, 22, Leah, 20, and Emma, 17, who she shares with late husband Ari Behn. Shutterstock"I'm glad that she actually told them that I was her gay best friend in the beginning, because they're very strong personalities, and let me tell you, those girls would've put me through the ringer," he said. "The fact that I became the cool gay best friend, and I kind of eased in that way, and then when they got to realize that we were actually in love with each other, it kind of eased it a little bit." Despite doubts from social media users that the couple's relationship-which began in 2018-is authentic, Märtha Louise has been vocal about her feelings for Durek. "Being married is amazing, especially when you're married to the love of your life," she told Today.com in a joint Sept. 22 interview. "It's amazing to be married to a man who loves me like you do."
